Description
For sample persons age 12 to 21, this variable indicates the number of cigarettes per day the respondent smoked on days when they smoked, within the past 30 days.
[show more]This variable was part of a Youth Behavior Survey (YBS) conducted several months after the NHIS. The Survey described that the YBS was conducted to gather information on the status of both good and bad health behaviors in order to develop programs to improve the health of young people. For a list of tobacco related variables from the 1992 YBS, see SMOKEPUFFEV.
