In 2008, this term was respondent defined and the condition did not have to be diagnosed by a health professional. In 2021, respondents were specifically asked if they were told by a doctor or other health professional.

In 2008, the question for the variable CHRFATIGEV was part of the adult conditions section. In 2021, it was added to the rotating conditions section.
