Description
For sample persons ages 18 and older who have at least two biological children who were diagnosed by a doctor as having cancer for which the sample person gave a valid cancer code and the second child with cancer is known to be dead, CH2AGED reports the age at which the second child died. NHIS released versions of this variable for up to five biological children who were ever diagnosed with cancer, but there were no in-universe responses for three, four, or five children with cancer. As such, these variables are not included in IPUMS NHIS.
