Description
For sample adults aged 40 and older who had ever had a home blood stool test, BSTHLDMO reports the month of the most recent home blood stool test. BSTHLDMO should be used with BSTHLDYR, the year of the most recent home blood stool test.
Refer to BSTHEV for more information on home blood stool testing variables.
Comparability
Aside from slight changes in question wording, this variable is comparable over time. In 2015, the wording of the question asking whether respondents had ever had a home blood stool test BSTHEV changed slightly to more inclusive language. Prior to 2015, respondents were asked whether they ever had "a blood stool test, using a HOME test kit?" Beginning in 2015, respondents were asked whether they had ever had "a blood stool or FIT test, using a HOME test kit?"
