Description

For sample adults over age 40 who ever had home blood stool or FIT test (BSTHEV), this variable indicates the time, in grouped years, since the person's last home blood stool test.

Prior to 2019, BSTHGYRR was collected periodically as part of a series of cancer screening questions. Beginning in 2019, BSTHGYRR is collected every other year as part of a rotating core set of NHIS survey content covering preventive screening services. Comparability

Prior to 2019, this variable is completely comparable over time. The NHIS questionnaire was substantially redesigned in 2019 to introduce a different data collection structure and new content.
