Description
For sample females who have had a breast physical exam in the past three years because of a specific health or breast problem, BREXWHYOTH reports whether the problem that led to the exam was some other problem not listed. Listed options vary by year, but include swelling, soreness, pain, and lumps.

Universe
- 1987: Half of female sample persons age 40+ (excluded from CAEP supplement) who have ever heard of a breast physical exam, who have ever had a breast physical exam, and had last exam in the past 3 years because of a health problem.
- 1992: Half of female sample persons age 30+ in quarters 1 and 2 and in 2 weeks of quarter 3 (excluded from CAEP supplement) who have ever had a breast physical exam, whose most recent exam was in the past 3 years, and whose main reason for last exam was because of a specific breast problem.
