For sample females ages 30 and older who have had a breast physical exam in the past three years because of specific breast problem, BREXWHYFIBRO reports whether the problem that led to the exam was fibrocystic breast disease. Other possible reasons included soreness, pain, swelling, and lumps.

Universe
- 1992: Half of female sample persons age 30+ in quarters 1 and 2 and in 2 weeks of quarter 3 (excluded from CAEP supplement) who have ever had a breast physical exam, whose most recent exam was in the past 3 years, and whose main reason for last exam was because of a specific breast problem.
