Description

For sample females ages 40 and older who have had a breast physical exam, but did not know the exact month and year of the last exam or the time since the last exam, but knew the last exam was more than 1 year ago, BREX135YR reports whether the last breast physical exam was between 1-3 years ago, 3-5 years ago, or more than 5 years ago.

There are no comparability issues with this variable.

Universe

  • 1987: Half of female sample persons age 40+ (excluded from CAEP supplement) who have ever heard of a breast physical exam and have ever had a breast physical exam, but didn't know month/year of last exam and didn't know time since last exam, and reported that last exam was 1 year or more ago.
