Description
For sample persons less than 6 years old who were ever breastfed (BREFEV) and whose respondent was their biological mother, BREFONPILL indicates whether the mother took birth control pills while breastfeeding.
[show more]The Field Representative's Manuals for 1981 notes that breastfeeding includes feeding by a wet nurse or if the mother's milk was given to the child through a bottle. Further, the Manualdirects interviewers to footnote the situation (either "wet nurse," "bottle," or "natural").
No definition or criteria is given for "birth control pills."
