Description
For sample children less than 6 months of age, BREFNOW indicates whether the child was being breastfed at the time of survey.
The Field Representative's Manual for 1981 notes that breastfeeding includes that given by a wet nurse or if the mother's milk was given to the child through a bottle. The Manualfurther directs interviewers to footnote the situation (either "wet nurse," "bottle," or "natural").
