Description

For respondents age 18 and over who have ever smoked a bidi, this variable reports whether the respondent currently smoked bidis every day, some days, or not at all.

 

The 2000 and 2005 Field Representative's Manuals defined bidis as, "Flavored cigarettes from India, recently popular in the United States." This definition was not routinely shared with respondents.
