Description

For respondents age 18 and over who reported ever smoking a bidi, this variable reports if the respondent smoked bidis at least 20 times in their entire life.

 

The 2000 and 2005 Field Representative's Manuals defined bidis as, "Flavored cigarettes from India, recently popular in the United States." This definition was not routinely shared with respondents.
