Description

For sample children ages 1-17 who have a usual bedtime, BEDTIMPM reports whether the child's usual bedtime is a.m. or p.m. Persons were asked to report the regular bed time of the child, rounded to the nearest quarter hour. BEDTIMPM should be used in conjunction with BEDTIMHR, which reports the hour for the bedtime and BEDTIMIN, which reports the minutes past the hour for the bedtime.

BEDTIMPM was first introduced as part of a supplement on child health. For related variables, please use the IPUMS NHIS search function and drop-down menus.
