Description
For sample persons ages 18 and older who have at least one other biological parent of the person's child(ren) who has been diagnosed by a doctor with cancer for which the sample person gave a valid cancer code, BCHOP1NUM reports the number of biological children the person has had with the first other parent diagnosed with cancer.
Versions of this variable are available for up to three other biological parents of the person's children. Please use the drop down menu and search function for related variables.
Universe
- 1987: Half of sample persons age 18+ (excluded from CACT supplement) who have at least 1 child (or an unknown number of children), and for whom the other parent (of respondent's children) had known cancer and a valid cancer code.
