Description

For sample persons under age 18, ARTHOJPEV indicates if the child ever had arthritis or any other joint disease or joint problem. The inquiry did not require the problem be diagnosed by a doctor or health professional, and definitions of the terms "arthritis or any other joint disease or joint problem " were not provided in the survey text or Field Representative's Manual and assumed to be respondent-defined.

The question for ARTHOJPEV was part of a series of questions on child health conditions in the 1988 Supplement on Child Health.
