Description
ARMFCC indicates whether a sample adult aged 18 and older (and, prior to 2019, all persons 18 and older) who was ever active duty in the armed forces (ARMFEV), ever served in a foreign country during a time of armed conflict or on humanitarian or peacekeeping mission.
Comparability

The NHIS questionnaire was substantially redesigned in 2019 to introduce a different data collection structure and new content. For more information on changes in terminology, universes, and data collection methods beginning in 2019, please see the user note.
