Description
For sample persons age 18 and over whose drinking in the past two weeks was not typical of the past 12 months, ALCNTYP2WK reports how the amount of alcohol the person drank in the past two weeks is different from how much alcohol the respondent drank in the past year.
ALCNTYP2WK was part of a supplement on alcohol practices in 1988 and part of the Health Prevention and Disease Promotion (HPDP) Supplement in 1985,1990, and 1991. The HPDP periodically included in the NHIS which helped measure national goals towards the Health People Initiative of the U.S. Surgeon General. Universe
- 1985; 1990: Sample persons age 18+ who ever drank 12 alcoholic drinks in entire life, ever drank 12 drinks in any 1 year, and had at least one alcoholic drink in the past year. and drank at least one day in the past 2 weeks; REF/DK/NA days drank in past 2 weeks and 2-week drinking amount not typical of the past 12 months.
- 1988: Sample adults who are current drinkers and whose drinking in the past 2 weeks, or in the past 2 weeks when drank, was not typical of past 12 months
- 1991: Sample persons age 18+ who have had at least one drink of alcohol in the past year, who drank at least one day in the past 2 weeks (or for whom the number of days drank in the past two weeks was unknown), and whose 2-week drinking is NOT typical of the past 12 months (or for whom this was unknown).
