Description
For sample persons ages 18 and older who have at least four full siblings who have been diagnosed by a doctor with cancer and reported a valid cancer code for the fourth full sibling with known cancer, SIB4CAN2 reports whether that sibling was ever diagnosed with any other type of cancer by a doctor.
Versions of this variable are available for up to five full siblings who were ever diagnosed with cancer. Please use the drop down menu and search function for related variables.
Universe
- 1987: Half of sample persons age 18+ (excluded from CACT) who have at least 4 siblings (or an unknown number of siblings), for whom any siblings have been diagnosed with cancer, and whose fourth sibling reported as having known cancer has a valid cancer code for the first cancer.
