Description

For sample persons ages 18 and older who have at least two full siblings who have been diagnosed by a doctor with cancer, SIB2CAN reports whether the sample person can report a valid cancer code for his or her second full sibling with known cancer. Please use drop down menus for related variables.

Versions of this variable are available for up to five full siblings who were ever diagnosed with cancer. Please use the drop down menu and search function for related variables.

There are no comparability issues with this variable.

Universe

  • 1987: Half of sample persons age 18+ (excluded fromc CACT) who have at least 2 siblings (or an unknown number of siblings), for whom any siblings have been diagnosed with cancer, and who reported at least 2 siblings as having known cancer.
