Description

For sample persons under age 18, OPMUSCEV reports if the person has ever had an operation on the musculoskeletal system. This includes operations on the facial bones and joints; incision, excision, and division of other bones; other operations on bones; reduction of fracture and dislocation; incision and excision of joint structures; repair and plastic operations on joint structures; operations on muscle, tendon and fascia of hand; operations on muscle, tendon and fascia other than of the hand; and procedures other than those listed here.

This explicitly does NOT include operations on the following: accessory sinuses; nasal bones; the skull; cartilage of ear; the diaphragm, or muscles of the eye. It also does not include removal or replacement of a cast or split, traction alone for reduction of a fracture, external fixation alone for immobilization of fracture, or internal fixation without reduction of fracture.
