Description
For sample persons ages 14-21, SEX1STAGE reports the age of the person when she/he had sexual intercourse for the first time. Response categories include 11 years or younger, 12 years old, 13 years old, 14 years old, 15 years old, 16 years old, 17 years or older, or "have never done this during my life".
SEX1STAGE was introduced as part of the Youth Risk Behavior supplement, included in 1992. The supplement includes questions about injury risks, physical fights, weapons use, cigarette smoking, chewing tobacco, alcohol and illegal drug use, AIDS/HIV education, diet and nutrition, physical activities, stays away from home, and sexual behaviors.
