Description

For sample adults who had participated in callisthenics in the past 2 weeks (EXCALIS), EXCALISBR reports whether respondents usually experienced a small, moderate, or large increase, or no increase at all in their heart rate or breathing while callisthenics.

After determining that a respondent participated in aerobics or aerobic dancing, respondents were first asked, "How many times in the past 2 weeks did you do callisthenics?" (EXCALISNO). They were then asked, "On the average, about how many minutes did you spend doing callisthenics?" (EXCALISMIN). Finally, to obtain information for EXCALISBR, respondents were asked, "What usually happened to your heart rate or breathing when you did callisthenics? Did you have a small, moderate, or large increase, or no increase at all in your heart rate or breathing?"
