Description
For sample adults age 18 and over who ever drank 12 drinks in any one year and had at least one alcoholic drink in the past year, ALCDUINO asks how many times in the past year the respondent drove after having had too much to drink.
ALCDUINO was part of the 1985 and 1990 Health Promotion and Disease Prevention supplements. For related variables, please use the IPUMS NHIS search function and drop-down menus.
Comparability
Apart from changes in the universe, there are no comparability issues. Changes in survey design (e.g., quarters in which the supplement was collected) may affect raw frequencies, but do not affect comparability of the variable. As always, data users should use the prescribed IHIS weights.
