Description

For all persons, WLSDENANY indicates whether the person missed any time from work or school or reduced normal activities for more than half a day for a dental problem or dental visit in the past two weeks.

WLSDENANY is a recode of three variables: whether the person missed any time from work or school because of a dental problem or visit (WSLOWNDEN); whether the person missed any time from work or school because they were assisting a relative or friend with a dental problem or visit (WSLRELDEN); and whether the person cut down on their normal activities for more than half a day because of a dental problem or visit (RADEN).

WLSDENANY was introduced in 1989 as part of a series of variables used to determine whether an illness or injury has caused persons to restrict their usual activities during the two-week reference period.
