Description

For sample persons age 18 and over who know approximately what temperature the hot water is in their home, WATEMPAPROX reports whether the approximate temperature is high, medium or low. These terms were respondent-defined. Persons could report the approximate temperature in categories or in degrees.

WATEMPAPROX was part of the Health Prevention and Disease Promotion supplement periodically included in the NHIS which helped measure national goals towards the Healthy People Initiative of the U.S. Surgeon General.
