For sample persons aged 18 and older who worked last year at a civilian job that required repeated activities such as bending, twisting, and reaching, TIMEBTRTN reports the length of time (in number of minutes or hours) that the person spends bending, twisting, and reaching during a typical work day. This variable was included in the 1988 Occupational Health supplement.
Users should combine TIMEBTRTN with TIMEBTRTP, which reports time period for the number in in TIMEBTRTN, to get complete information on the amount of time that the person spends bending, twisting, or reaching at work.
