Description
For sample persons ages 14-21, SEXLASTBC reports what single method the person and her/his partner used to prevent pregnancy. Persons were only allowed to select a single answer. Response categories included: Never had sexual intercourse, no method to prevent pregnancy, birth control pills, condoms, withdrawal, some other method, or not sure.
SEXLASTBC was introduced as part of the Youth Risk Behavior supplement, included in 1992. The supplement includes questions about injury risks, physical fights, weapons use, cigarette smoking, chewing tobacco, alcohol and illegal drug use, AIDS/HIV education, diet and nutrition, physical activities, stays away from home, and sexual behaviors.
