Description
For sample female adults who have ever taken estrogen and progestin AND who were ages 18-39, not pregnant, and had a menstrual period in the past three months that was less regular or lighter than a year ago OR who were ages 40-49 and not pregnant OR who were ages 50 and older, PROGESYR reports the total number of years that the respondent reported taking progestin. Respondents were instructed to include any breaks lasting fewer than 30 days.

Universe
- 1999: Female sample adults who have ever taken estrogen and progestin and gave a known response for whether they were taking progestin now AND who were age 18-39, not currently pregnant or unknown if pregnant, and had a menstrual period in the past 3 months that was less regular or lighter compared with 12 months ago OR who were age 40-49 and not pregnant or unknown if pregnant OR who were age 50+.
