For persons who reported at least one foot problem during the past 12 months, who still have the problem, and who got medical treatment for their foot problem during the past 12 months, PODTRPLHOME indicates whether the person reported getting treatment for his or her foot problem from a health professional in his or her home.
PODTRPLHOME was introduced in 1990 as part of the NHIS Podiatry Supplement. The purpose of this supplement is to obtain current data concerning problems with the feet, access to foot care, and the amount, frequency, and type of foot care obtained.
