Description

For sample adults who had participated in tennis in the past 2 weeks (EXTENNIS), EXTENNISBR reports whether respondents usually experienced a small, moderate, or large increase, or no increase at all in their heart rate or breathing while playing tennis.

After determining that a respondent participated in aerobics or aerobic dancing, respondents were first asked, "How many times in the past 2 weeks did you go swimming?" (EXTENNISNO). They were then asked, "On the average, about how many minutes did you spend playing tennis each time?" (EXTENNISMIN). Finally, to obtain information for EXTENNISBR, respondents were asked, "What usually happened to your heart rate or breathing when you played tennis? Did you have a small, moderate, or large increase, or no increase at all in your heart rate or breathing?"
