Description
For sample persons age 18 and older who knew what stress was, and who reported to have experienced stress within the last year and have sought help from some other source, EMOAMTOTH reports the amount of help the person received from this source.
Users interested in the amount of help from specific sources (not included in this variable) should also use: AMOAMTFAM (family member and/or relative), EMOAMTFREN (friend, neighbor and/or peer), EMOAMTMD (medical doctor), EMOAMTPSYCH (psychologist), EMOAMTPSYMD (psychiatrist), EMOAMTSW (social worker), EMOAMTOMH (other mental health professional), EMOAMTAA (Alcoholics Anonymous), AMOAMTNAMI (National Alliance for the Mentally Ill), EMOAMTREL (religious counselor and/or religious support group), EMOAMTWK (counselor and/or group at work), and EMOAMTOSH (other self-help group).

Universe
- 1990: Sample persons age 18+ who knew what stress was, and who in the past year thought about seeking help for personal or emotional problems from family/friends and/or from a professional/self-help group, or for whom it was unknown whether they had thought about seeking such help, who actually sought help and who sought help from an "other" source.
