Description
For sample adults age 18+, this is a recoded variable indicating if the respondent currently uses, formerly used, or never smoked cigars, and the frequency of use.
The term "cigar" was respondent defined. The Field Representative's Manual for 1987 mentions that interviewers should, "Include "cigarillos" as cigars, if asked."
